Recipients don't need an account
Even multi-gigabyte files your mail server would reject: just send a link. The recipient enters their own email address, receives a one-time passcode, and downloads. No sign-up wall — which is exactly why the page you sent them actually gets opened. And no more emailing the password separately: no more PPAP.
Security
You are putting your company's name on this page, so the ground under it has to be solid. Not "anyone with the link can open it" — FILE SHIPPER is designed from the ground up so that a file reaches only the person it was addressed to.
Only the intended recipient can download
Having the share link isn't enough on its own. A file can only be downloaded by someone who confirms the address it was sent to and enters the one-time code mailed there.
Personal data is encrypted at rest
Personal information such as email addresses is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it is stored. The encryption keys live in the key-management service of a Japanese provider (Sakura Internet), keeping them inside Japanese jurisdiction.
Every file is malware-checked
Every upload is matched against known-malware hashes the moment it lands. Documents, archives and executables also get a full virus-definition scan, up to 4 GB. Anything flagged is quarantined automatically, and a share you have already sent stops working on the spot. This applies on every plan, Free included.
When the clock runs out, the file is gone
Files past their retention period are removed automatically. The scheduled deletion time is shown on the recipient's screen too, so nobody is left wondering how long a file will stick around.
Built to keep personal data out of the logs
Email addresses are matched through a one-way index rather than compared directly, and the system is designed throughout never to leave personal data in plaintext in logs or caches.
Defenses against abuse and bots
Limits on passcode attempts, send-rate throttling, bot challenges, and other layered defenses protect against unauthorized access and against the service being used to send spam.
